Hypocras "Philtre d'amour" red 75cl

The beverage of medieval Europe par excellence!

Spiced wine and garrigue honey make up this festive wine, which was very popular in the Middle Ages.

It was served at the end of huge banquets and used by knights as a tonic.

Hypocras was consumed in the same way as coffee today, for its stimulating, digestive and aphrodisiac properties.

Perhaps even an aphrodisiac! The Domaine du Cardona has adapted this wine in keeping with its historical heritage: A selection of the best wines from the Corbières terroir, highly scented garrigue honey and a selection of oriental spices.

It is best served slightly chilled at 12°C as an aperitif, with cheeses and desserts, or as an evening wine.

Also used in cooking for deglazing and marinades.
