This Medieval monastic drink is contemporary with the Hypocras.

However, monks did not have access to spices because of their social status and the fact that

Hypocras was lent aphrodisiac virtues.

They used, then, the wine of their vines and the honey of their hives and red fruits like the blackberry, or the plum to flavour.

The Domaine du Cardona develops its Moretum from a selection of red wines from the Terroir des Corbières, which are aged in oak barrels in a natural cave.

This powerful aroma of wine aged for a long time, is sweetened by the honey of garrigue, and the reduction of the juice of wild blackberries refers to illusions of walks in a forest full of magic and mysteries.
